Introduction

Snacking is a personal favourite of mine to curb those midday cravings. Whether you're at work or school, snacking is a great time to get in some additional nutrients or maybe you're looking for a special treat!

Whether it's savoury, sweet, healthy, or unhealthy you're after, here are some gluten free snacks you're bound to love!

Snacks For The Kids Lunches

1. Fruit!

Fruit of all colours is a great option for getting some beneficial nutrients in to your kids and it's sweet so it's great for those sugar cravings. Some lunchbox safe options include berries, apples, bananas, and mandarins.

2. Veggie Sticks

Veggie sticks are a great way to get some more vegetables in your child's diet. Carrots and celery with some gluten free string cheese fits easily on the side of a lunchbox.

3. GF Snack Packs

They're easy options to pop in the school bag and for the kids to snack on when you don't have much prep time. Check out GF Nation's range of quick snacks!

Savoury Snacks for the Salt Cravings

1. Cheese and Crackers

Do we need to say more? Pick these up at the supermarket in convenient snack packs or make your own! Just make sure you're choosing gluten free crackers like rice crackers.

2. Chips

Great on the go or on the couch, chips are usually gluten free including veggie, potato, or tortilla. Just check for additives on the food labels that might include gluten to be safe.

3. Popcorn

Popcorn can be a healthier snack to chips for those on a health kick. Try choose popcorns lower in salt and butter or pop your own to control these amounts!

Sweet Snacks for the Sweet Tooth

1. Gluten Free Cookies and Cupcakes

Gluten free baking is so readily available in supermarkets these days and there are so many delicious options to choose from including cupcakes, cookies, cakes, brownies, and more! They all make for a delicious dessert too. GF Nation has a variety of GF baking options for you to try!

2. Ice Cream

Who doesn't love ice cream? There's a variety of gluten free ice creams available and most plain flavours like vanilla or chocolate are GF but it is always important to check labels to make sure. Things to watch out for include added cookies or brownies.

Snacks for the Midday Scaries

1. Veggie Sticks

Veggie sticks aren't only for the kids! With only 6% of Australians meeting their vegetable recommendations of 5 serves a day, it's a great way to get some more in during those midday hunger pangs. Having veggie sticks with a side of hummus or your favourite dip is a great way to add some more flavour.

2. Yoghurt

Yoghurt pouches and single serve tubs are convenient and available at the supermarket with gluten free options to choose from. Always check labels to ensure the ones you're choosing are gluten free.

3. Chocolate!

Who doesn't love a quick sugary pick me up? Chocolate is usually GF but make sure you always check the labels to ensure there are no additives containing gluten. Shop care free through GF Nation's chocolate range here!
